Too many moving parts for a Laine to WSH deal to work. I like the creativity, just don’t think it could work.

Ya probably not, I just like trying different teams, see most rangers, flyers, canes for laine.

I will say though, a Powerplay of

Ovechkin-Kuznetsov-Laine
Oshie-Carlson

would be absolutely insane. Easily best Powerplay in the NHL.

No chance the Jets take 29 year old Orlov back as a main part of the deal.

Why I included fehervary he's a top prospect who should slide into the top four soon, niku has been going other direction maybe change of scenery helps him.

Forget him. He never thinks it's enough for Laine! Unless, you are offering Kuznetsov, Vrana, Eller and Samsonov with multiple 1st round picks?!?

Fehervary isn't good enough to make up for the Jets taking a 29 year old defenseman as a main piece for a 22 year old sniper. Chevy won't do something that silly. If this is the best offer out there, the Jets just keep Laine and see what is out there next year, or the year after if need be, or the TDL the following year.

There's just nothing there that makes Chevy think about making that move now. Sorry.

WSH doesn't have cap issues this year. Kempny just had surgery and is out for eight months. They're under the cap.

Laine had 7 more even strength points than Vrana this year, but Vrana had a better points/60, so if he gets bigger minutes, he could outscore Laine this year or next year on his own. I don't see the point of the trade.

Over the last five years Orlov is 8th in EVP among LHD. Fehervary is a top prospect developing faster than a couple of first round draft picks. The two of them together make a fair trade for Laine.

So you've got two units of "Laine's trade value" here, plus a 1st round pick, and on the other side, you've got just one Laine. Consider revising?

See above. (eta: but what about Backstrom, Wilson, Schultz, McMichael, etc.? Top power plays tend to have two good units, and Backstrom is the key to the Caps' top unit.)

See above. Cheers.

I doubt they get more as every day that goes by the Jets leverage decreases with few teams able to fit the Laine salary. 2021 qualifying offer starts at 8 million. There are maybe a handful of teams that can afford it. Vrana has a very good contract. Getting two defensive pieces and a 1st rounder is pretty good. Niku has no value. 2nd rounder is negligible

I don't think caps trade either c, no coincidence they won their cup once they had two elite centres

That's plenty for Laine, Jets fans are overestimating his value here.
