Yes, would just get rid of the money for next few seasons. Perreault is in last year and easy to get draft pick during the season. Niku can be good if he is healthy. Not what he used to be so he can't bring back much but might be nice to see Keith have a few more shots with his hometown team if he was willing to go back. Some Chicago media has him going to a few teams for a 3rd and 5th or a bottom pair defenseman and a mid round draft pick!

I mean if that's the return we would get from him then there's no point in trading him. We are going into a rebuild so the money is not that big a deal plus he's only making 6.25M total for the next 3 years so it's cheaper than the cap. I get that other teams want him, but he's out hall of fame defensemen that is still very good and we aren't going to throw him away from a couple mid draft picks.

I want the jets to get Keith really bad, but this package doesnt do it. FIrst off, the hawks arent gonna take Matty P's contract back unless there is a kicker.
