Dumba should have more value than that

I'd imagine the extra year of cap savings would offset the difference between Dvorak & Dumba yeah and Minnesota's desperation for centers would help

This makes a lot of sense and is quite realistic

I wonder if MIN know that Stepan is an AHLer

How is Stepan an AHLer?

One would hope, but our Beat writer has made it clear that Dumba hasn't been getting any impressive offers on the phoneline lately. Pretty much sounds like the Wild will hold on to him. Unless a team gets a bit desperate for a RHD.

This thread makes me wonder back to the time that Fenton almost traded Nino + Zucker for Dvorak + Domi. I don't hate this trade since I know a lot of people have been high on Dvorak. The truth is I know what we would be getting out of Stepan, but I don't know enough about Dvorak. His stats haven't been super impressive but there is always more to just a player's points. Can any one enlighten me on how he projects? Could he be a future top 6, mainly 2C in the future if Rossi reaches his projection as a 1C? Or is the verdict still out on him and people are just hoping that due to his age he will continue to improve?

I am always impressed with Dvorak when the Yotes come to town. He's a good player - plays hard and goes to the right spots. I think he could be a good top six C. He has a similar feel to William Karlsson - great numbers in minor leagues, never getting a chance to really produce until he had a new role. He may not get much better as a player, but the top 6 in Arizona is a tough place to be.

This trade would be a massive win for Minnesota, especially if we feel we can compete in 2/3 years. Dvorak fills in as top line center this year and let’s Rossi ease his way in, maybe even stay in Europe. We get a top 6 C that is on a bonkers good contract at the cost of Dumba, who is coming from a position of strength. Not to mention BG would win the ultimate prize by getting rid of Rask without retaining. Dumba is good but this is a hockey trade that we trade from a strength to upgrade a weakness.

What would you think of adding AA to this team as a backup plan.

Does AA = Andreas Athanasiou? If so...I’m not a big fan.

Anyone who thinks this is a massive win for Minnesota are vastly overrating Christian Dvorak. He is not the center Wild fans think he is.

Yes that is who I meant.
I think AA as short term fix would work.

I see him as a similar player to Cirelli - very good defensively and good offensively. He and Ek would make an incredible pair of middle 6 centers and would be perfect for the Wild...IF Rossi develops into the top line guy.
Rossi
Dvorak
Ek
Sturm
That has the potential to be a Cup-winning middle.
