Hoffman will not sign in Vancouver.

Vancouver will not spend $6m on what will amount to a 40 point player

For one year why not? it gives Podkolzin another year to develop while having the cap hit for pettey and co next year

Because Hoffman gets majority, like half of his points for working the right half wall on PP1 with his one timer.

Guess who plays that spot of the Canucks?

Hoffman won’t and is useless anywhere else on PP1 and he won’t get the same ice time or players on PP2.

So his point totals will dip drastically.

So what’s the point for Hoffman? What’s the point for the Canucks?

It’s the exact same reason why Barrie didn’t sign for more money here.

More then 60% of his points were 5on5 this year and that would have likely been higher this year not for covid He would be a better fit on the 2nd right wing over virtanen FLA really doesnt have the best Power play unit 1 only barkov would make Vancouver's unit 1 But lets say all that doesnt matter Who do you sign with that extra 6 millon to fill that whole for one year? granlund? he isnt any better

So his point totals will dip drastically.

Buffalo accepts

This would be a very good move for Buffalo.
I am one of the biggest fans of OOPs Montour (not Miller) as he was a top pairing defenseman the two years prior to this past year.
This gives Buffalo cap space, LHD, 2nd and a decent RHD prospect.
