I think they shoehorn him. Why don't you see it?

Because of the center depth and they don’t need to rush him
He’ll probably be better than some ( Bjugstad Sturm Rask ), but they will send him back in the OHL

I don't see it either. He had one good year in the OHL and that is nowhere near the same level as the NHL. MN doesn't need any wings, or that could be a possibility for Rossi. I don't see him being anywhere near NHL ready without the normal prospect tournament, training camps, etc. It's too big of a jump for almost everyone in a normal offseason, with the wierdness of this offseason I think it makes it even harder. Ideally he'd be in the AHL (the CHL has nothing else for him) to get his feet wet with pro hockey and playing grown men.

Bonino/JEE will be the top-6 centers. Bjugstad/MarJo the 3C. Rask the 4C until he gets enough games played to meet expansion draft eligibility. Then Strum takes over the 4C spot and Rask back the the pressbox.

I'm still hoping that an OS/trade for Cirelli happens. I don;t think it'll happen but none of the other center names floating around interest me. I'm also hoping for a bounce back/healthy season for Bjugstad (simply because we're stuck with him). If he can be the player he was in FLA he'd be a fine 3C, Then MN can just roll 3 x 2nd lines and a quality 4th line, they have the wings for it to happen, They won't win many style points, but will be in every game they play.

You guys need to read more Wild sources like Russo. Everyone believes Rossi sits at about an 80% chance he makes the team. That’s the low end of it. At the very least he will get 9 games in the NHL before they decide to burn up his ELC.

If Rossi doesn’t make the team. He will be in Europe and not the OHL. He already in on a European team currently.

100% agree. No reason to ruin Rossi's development in a season they're not doing anything anyhow. Let him develop in the AHL or over in Europe if there isn't an AHL season and go with the centers they have. Hopefully they can flip Bonino for some futures at the deadline and keep looking to the future.

Rossi can’t play in the AHL this year per an agreement between the CHL and the NHL. His options are: play for the Wild, go back to the OHL (not gonna happen) or play in the Swiss league where I believe he already has a deal in place with an NHL out in the contract.
Personally, I hope he plays 9 games in a Wild sweater so we can all see him play, then he goes to the Swiss league to develop.

You're right, I forgot about the CHL/AHL issue. I'd be fine with him getting a few games here to let him see what he needs to prepare for, but it sounds like the Swiss league would be best for him to let him play against men.
