This is a no from the wings, we want more if we are taking tj and no chance we are giving up the chance to draft powers in an unprotected pick

Dude you obviously don't know how RFA's work? There's no freaking way Bertuzzi is getting paid more then Mantha. On a one year deal Bertuzzi will get $3,700,000 for 3 years Mantha will get around $6,000,000 or slightly more. And fat chance Detroit is giving up a top 5 pick in the Sergachev offer sheet sweepstakes. Detroit's in no position to be giving up great picks.

I find it a bit weird Mantha didn't file for arbitration.

Pretty sure his injury history had a lot to do about it, he knew he wouldn't get much on arbitration. Better off trying to get a reasonable short term deal.

For me the one thing I don't like on this site is the area of adding $$, I miss typed the amount and could not change. Detroit has so much space I didn't care to redo this one but I was going between Mantha getting 2 years at 5.3 each year or long term 6-7. I am not sure what either side does this year, 2 years appears to give Mantha one more RFA year and with the market he may want to wait while Detroit can do that and still have some protection. If Mantha gets 30 or near the next two seasons it can pay off long term for him $$$

I put in the offer sheet to get the worth of signing a rfa at that money. The point of Johnson going to Detroit is to save both teams their 1st rounders; I just couldn't get the Detroit pick back on this simulation.
Yzerman can go to TB and negotiate a sign and trade for Sergachev and agree to take Johnson so TB can sign Cirelli etc. I wonder if one of the many 2nds that Detroit has might have to be added but I think Detroit can play hard ball as they have lots of money and Tampa is in trouble and can't keep everyone. A lot easier for Tampa this year as they have nice new rings.
