    1. Okposo, Kyle ($2,000,000 retained)
    Additional Details:
Okposo traded after his bonus is paid, and with 2 million in retention meaning a cap floor team gets 6 million cap hit for 2 million in real money in year 1 and 6 million cap hit for 2 million in real money year 2. (last year of deal is 4 million in real money vs 6 million in cap, so 2 million retained). essentially a cap poor team gets 6 million in cap hit per year and pays 2 million in real money.

The thing is, Ottawa is going to have zero problem getting to the floor next year. Brady, Logan Brown and Drake Batherson are all going to be RFA's, and there is room to add around them.

Absolutely zero point saving a division rival from a bad cap hit without getting assets in return.

Sure, I'm absolutely able to read, but I appreciate you helping me out...So, instead of being lazy, figure out a team that will miraculously save you from that cap hit, that would also take him for nothing. Detroit? That would seem like a bold strategy to handcuff themselves for a couple of years (Again, without getting assets to do it). New Jersey? Again, no thanks. Anyone else?

There are so many teams that would love to dump a bad contract or two, and everyone knows that you've gotta pay for it. Pretty simple.

I amended the trade to add a 2nd, I edited my response to you, but apparently after you sent your response.. I'm not changing teams and having to rewrite everything I put in the notes, I'm also not convinced that Ottawa won't be in a similar position to where they are this offseason with the cap as they currently have 37 million in cap space for 2021-22.

This is a pretty good looking roster. I think the only weakness is backup goalie but that can be addressed via trade or free agency. I also wouldn't be surprised to see Samuelsson playing in the NHL too, maybe not full time but I think he could get a good look
