If Chicago exploded

Description
Just because Chicago want to do a rebuild, I tried to figure how they can do it quick.

1. I needed to choose between Toews or Kane to make a trade. I decided to move Kane because he has the highest trade value in my mind and because with a young team, Toews is a better leader as he is the team captain also. I think a nice trade partner would be Buffalo. They want to trade Ristolainen since couple years and Chicago needs to add a young top 2 defenseman with a nice cap hit. I add Mittelstadt as a young potential player and recent 1st rounder defenseman Ryan Johnson + of course a 1st round pick.

2. I traded Duncan Keith to Boston for 2x 2nd round pick. Keith has a fair contract and Boston is a perfect trade fit because they need to replace Krug and Chara as left handed defenseman.

3. I traded Dylan Strome to Ottawa because I need to add a decent future good goalie in the depth chart. Ottawa needs to add depth in their centerline and Strome is a perfect fit as a high top 6 center potential. I figured that Ottawa would prefer to keep Gustavsson instead of Sogaard so I put him in the package with RW Drake Batherson and 2nd round pick.

This is where Chicago needs to take benefit of it's salary cap place and make the rebuild take the 2nd speed.

3. They took the huge contract of Louis Eriksson from Vancouver with a 1st round pick. They will buyout him at the end of the season.

4. I would take advantage of salary cap problem of Tampa Bay to add another 1st round pick with the bad contract situation of Tyler Johnson. They also don't have cap space for resign RFA Mathieu Joseph, so I asked him in the trade as we never have enough young grit in a roster.

The results :

- I added 3x first round pick next year + our pick who would be probably top 10.
- I added 3x 2nd round pick
- I added young players Ristolainen (D), Ryan Johnson (D), Casey Mittelstadt (C), Drake Batherson (RW), Mads Sogaard (G)

Not enough for Kane from a hockey trade perspective.

Buffalo cannot afford him financially.

I do not think Kane wants to play in Buffalo. I do not think Kane wants to play sidekick to Eichel. I do not think the Pegula's want Kane after his incidents.

Kane is an elite forward and I think a package for him to BUF would need Cozens and multiple 1st rounders

I like how you did this. Some tweaks could be:

1) Smith is LTIR due to back injury. Pius Suter and Phillip Kurashev would likely be up on big boy roster.
2) Carpenter is an easy sell for pick/B prospect To open up another spot for young player.
3) TDL Wallmark and Janmark for more futures and open up more spots for prospects.
4) DeHaan and Murphy can be sold at TDL for same reasons as above.
5) Mitchell and Carlson should be on this team. Seeler should not.

I'd be glad as long as we save jazz & deep dish pizza before it explodes... but ensuring that the drunken a$$hole hawks fans are at the center of the blast 💥

Chicago easily passes on the Buffalo trade; Risto is a cap dump as far as the Hawks are concerned and Mittlestadt likely isn't more then a 3rd line C or at best 2nd line supporting winger. Kane is worth way more then a 1st and Johsson. Buffalo would need to add Cozens to entice moving Kane and Chicago retains $2M. That said, Kane isn't waiving IMO.

Also passes on the Boston and Tampa trades. The boston trade is (2) late 2nd rounders, Keith is worth more. Regarding Tampa, this is a soft rebuild, meaning they are looking to compete in 2 to 3 seasons, therefore, while you are moving cap out in other moves, you are simply locking it back up for the next 4 years in the Tampa trade for Johnsson and a late 1st rounder is not nearly enough to take on Johnson.

The Blackhawks would be left with the sober a$$hole fans and the drunken non-a$$hole fans? It might take a few tweaks in the marketing but that could work
