I get that the centre situation is kinda dry, but I think the team is capable of making a deep run
Vegas had Karlsson and made the WCF this year, so its not like they are incapable of making a run. Plus I think that the players they are surrounded with really benefit their playstyle and will bring out the best in them
The blueline is stacked. I think this team will go as far as Riemer can take them
Yeah but Vegas is *stacked* on the wings. Look at this teams middle 6 wingers. Perron might fit on Vegas 3rd line, the others won't. I think this team's a slightly better Nashville.
How many great saves did he make during games 1 and 5? Four maybe? His defense, which was led and carried by Jones/Werenski kept the Leafs from having dangerous scoring chances
making great saves is not goaltending
stopping the puck is goaltending, being positionally sound is good goaltending. Being out of position and getting forced to make "great saves" is solid, but its not very sustainable unless you are Dominik Hasek or Marc Andre Fleury

Right, but you don't know anything about CLB's style of hockey if you believe Korpisalo was the main factor for them. Hell, put Reimer there and they still edge the Leafs... why? BECAUSE THE LEAFS' SCORING CHANCES S*CKED
I think it just depends on how you want to roll out the defense -- with Theo - Jones // Dillon - Ellis // Vlasic - ADA, it gives a stay at home guy (Jones - sure he does more but just for this example, Dillon, Vlasic), and a player that can rush up with the play (Theo, Ellis, ADA). Alternatively you could stack the top line with Theo - Ellis and have it really push the offense while having Dillon - Jones as the real shutdown line. Either way, the defense will be sick.

I think I'm just a bit higher on Ellis and lower on Jones than you, but I also think Vlasic-ADA is better suited for the 3rd pair. I do however think that one of Jones' biggest strengths really is skating with the play, going from defense to offense, just like Theodore, and that Shea is just better att it. I'd rather have Theodore doing that on the first pair, with Ellis who's good at basically everything else. Then Jones can transport for a defensively solid Dillon, and Deangelo can hold the puck literally all the time on that third pairing no im serious please dont give the puck to vlasic it doesnt work hes just not good anymore i dont want to imaginehimgettinganymeaningfulamountoficetimewi...
