Description

This trade happens during the season. Wild GM and Habs GM are good friends. The Wild need a good centermen to fill in the hole that Staal and Koivu have left. Though the wild do have some excellent prospects coming up the pipeline, they need support down the middle. Danault, at age 27, would fit the bill. He's a selke caliber centermen.

danault is on an expiring contract. he won't get more than this. Brassard made 1.2 on his last deal. He won't get a raise, and with the covid situation, 900k seems about right to me

FJ is not a good prospect, there is no offense in his game at all. He's a 3rd rounder picked way too high.

I think the Habs are willing to make a bet on that. lots of potential there. plus they draft well in the 2nd rd, and those picks can come in handy for another potential trade.
