I mean, what would Strome's contract look like from a different team? Couldn't be much more than what 's being given out. Looking at these facts, I'd feel almost obligated to do as you suggest. Unless they feel like Strome is better than he is.

Granlund doesn't play center. He wasn't a center in minnesota or Nashville, 2 teams that desperately need centers.

This. Granlund hasn't played center since before Boudreau was the coach for the Wild. Torchetti moved him to Koivu's wing after Yeo was fired and he never moved back. So if you need a guy to play RW, take Granlund over Strome but if you need a center, absolutely take Strome.

A lot of hate for Strome. The guy’s stats were nearly identical to couturier but on a far weaker team. The idea that he had an out of character season is for sure the reason for this. That being said, Zibby did the same thing last year, a season that can’t be compared to his previous seasons and they both did this at the age of 27. This was what Strome’s original projections and ceiling, so hard to believe that maybe he is finally achieving it? Do we really need an official 1C to play 2C? Throwing away Strome and replacing him with wingers that could take a face off when called upon(doesn’t mean they win them). But not every C is going to win 59% like couturier. I’d rather keep Strome and look for a way to acquire a defensive LHD
