Bruins just got Kase, they won't move him and now for a bottom-6 F. Palmieri to Boston is unlikely with Pastrnak/Kase/Smith on the right wing. Maybe a top6 LW but priority is top4 LHD.

Yea remove the second, Chicago isn't trading an early second for a late first plus retaining money
DaBus and Mark_Kelley liked this.

Palmieri would be a pretty big upgrade to both Smith and Kase.

However, I think NJD ultimately resigns Palmieri ...to Gallagher-esque contract extension.

I'm not a huge Bennett fan and while I like the trade as a Flames fan, the Flames would pass on this they are still too high on Bennett

If they’re planning a rebuild at any point, trading 1st rounders makes it that much harder unless you’re doing it for a younger player with term.
If you want to deal middle 6 guys with low to medium ceilings like Kase and Bjork, I’d be ok with that (I’m fine with that TB trade), but I also think that they need to be getting back guys who can help on the back end as this team has a built in ceiling with that D core.

So you traded Nick Ritchie away but then went and got Bennett. Interesting strategy.
