Most of these players are as good as they're talked about or commonly known for being bad. A few are good, but aren't given enough credit. This is a bad list IMO.

For Ottawa, in relation to salary, I’d say Zaitsev or Anisimov, but both are NHL players, just over paid.

Over hyped, some would say Logan Brown.

Korpisalo is a good one, but I think jones is extremely overrated. It’s not a stretch to say that he’s the 3rd best defenseman on CBJ.

I might not be understanding this question. I think Seth Jones is pretty good, quietly good. That’s what you want from a good defenceman, to not be noticed in his own end. Stop the rush, get the puck, move it out, ho hum, rinse repeat.

Colin White was over hyped for sure, but he’ll still be a 2nd line version of Bergeron. I think he had a sophomore slump, and will be better this season.

Maybe overpaid, but I would 100% have any one of these players on my team. As for the ELCs you dropped in here, I'll take those too.

I think Seth Jones passes the eye test, he looks dynamic when you watch him - but his impact isn’t that of an elite defenseman. He’s not a #1, more of a high end 2nd pairing D.

I swear to god man, Tavares is a #1 centre on most teams in the NHL, he was on pace for 34 goals 78 points this year despite injury, having a kid, coaching change etc,

Last year he had 47 goals, 88 points. He just turned 30. He's a total professional and the guy is a workhorse who gives it 110% every shift, forechecks etc.

He's a consummate leader and a total beast of an NHL player and he'll prob score 40 goals again next season. He's the complete package. He can go 0-0-0 on the score sheet and still win his team the game, he's always around the net and always making stuff happen and leaving it all on the ice 24/7

I really dk where this stuff came about him being overated, I guess cause he had a down year? It happens all the time to superstars, and they almost always rebound

No but like, he's a #1 centre and an elite player. The only players who've scored more goals than him since he joined the leafs: MacKinnon, Kucherov, Ovie, Matthews, Pastrnak, Stamkos, Kane, and McDavid.

If you go to even strength only, he's 4th in scoring since he joined the leafs, league wide.

Agreed. I’d go one step further and honestly might rather play russell over him just because I’m more confident night to night basis in what russell will show up. With nurse I never know one game will be invisible next want to hit everyone in sight next he thinks he’s mcdavid and tries to carry the puck every chance he gets. I would’ve loved to move Nurse at the time. He’s gonna want too much. Not a big fan of him either. Nurse definitely has a lot of work on to get more than Morrissey on his next contract. Some say he’s a top pair defence man, but he’s not good enough.
