I know it's not really a trade or anything but the hawks would prefer Dach easily

Ugh, would hands down rather have Dach so toxic for sure, but get what you are saying around playing with Kane.

It is stan, so it’s not the hawks “prefer” it, they just see an asset, not a person.

At the same time, Suzuki did score far more with worse teammates. Imagine him feeding Kane.

Why is Suzuki all of a sudden toxic? The head pat incident?

I think you missed the point of the title. It’s toxic because hawks fans have a woody for Dach and MTL fans obviously love Suzuki. I.e. it’s just toxic because it would never happen and neither side will ever concede their guy is worse than the other side’s guy.

Sorry yeah I did miss that. You're right that neither side would ever concede to the other. Both great players with very bright futures ahead of them.

1000% Dach was drafted 2 years later and jumped right into the league. Compare Dach next season to Suzuki this past season and it's more of a level playing field if you want to compare them despite 2 year draft years apart. Dach gets the nod as he's bigger, better possession and defensive upside.

Pronman from The Athletic just came out with his players under 23 rankings; Dach #16, Suzuki #27. There is a reason for that

Absolutely. Suzuki is a great player, but Dach is 2 years younger, bigger, and ahead of where Suzuki was at his age. Dach took a massive step forward during the year. Hell, he was leading the Hawks in ice time at points in the playoffs and holding his own with the guy who won the Hart this year.

Dach, drafted 2 years later is easily ahead of Suzuki at the same time. Suzuki is a good player but Dach is the better prospect hands down.

How does that establish bias? What’s incorrect about that statement? Hawks fans adore Dach and MTL fans adore Suzuki. That’s pretty clear isnt it?

I didn’t miss my draft report either, I was just the 11th man who had to disagree. It was just coincidence that I genuinely wasn’t a fan.

Kotkaniemi played at 18 yo doesn't mean he was better than Suzuki
Suzuki did ****ing well at 19yo we can't complain about is 19 yo season
He started the year playing on the 4th line with Cousins/Weal/Thompson and manage to end the year being the #1 center and was our best forward by far in these playoffs.
Manage to put 41 points despite playing 4th line minutes at the beginning in Claude Julien system ( which is something lol )

But I didn't watch enough of Dach, only highlights ( regular season only ) and his goal looks like garbage goals / huge rebound with an empty net ( good thing he's driving the net I'm not roasting him at ALL )
Again he was super young and making the team at 18 is always something

With fairness to Suzuki, he did actually get what, 18-20 points more, and with worse players in his rookie year. Dach went 28 of 29 games without a point. He definitely looked better in the playoffs, and sure he did help contain the MVP. However, he did contain an MVP on an awful team, and then Vegas happened.

I’m not Suzuki is leaps and bounds better, but I’ll give respect to another team’s top notch get. Amazing how well that Vegas trade worked for them.

"Hawks fans adore Dach and MTL fans adore Suzuki" that is non bias! "Hawks fans have a woody for Dach and MTL loves Suzuki" that is bias

You did, because you weren't a fan and wish the Hawks drafted Turcotte and Byram (you were, and up until the playoffs, were very vocal about it here), and still call out things about Dach from his predraft card that aren't accurate such as speed and lack of skating...that simply isn't true and he's proven that. Furthermore, Pronman from The Athletic on his best players/prospect under 23 years old has Dach as #16, Suzuki at #27, Byram at #31, and tanked on Turcotte at #89; there are very good reasons for his rankings not to mention he's obviously very well respected as a analyst and writer around the league.
