Potential Roster What are your thoughts

Created by: Docbyars
Team: 2021-22 Detroit Red Wings
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 27, 2020
Published: Oct. 29, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Can easily fill in a different goalie, kinda just tossed one in to fill a spot, definetly depends how he does this season.
Guessing on some prospects to make team or start in AHL, not positive but just trying some stuff out.
Didn't know who to do for the 4th line RW so I just slotted in Erne.
Let me know what your thoughts are.

I expect Brome to be here in 21-22. He already has 12 points in 11 games this season in the SHL.

I don't think your far off. Would like to see Cholo improve enough to push offense with Seider, not sure if Veleno will be ready or if Svech comes around.

The D core is certainly looking better but this team needs help at center something fierce

I thought about putting him in but I don't see him above Raymond unless he starts in the AHL to adjust to the NA ice, or Fabbri, and I think he'd be wasted on the 4th line.

I could see a couple of the European players starting in the AHL but if they continue the tear they're on right now I could see them start. Svech I excluded as either taken in the expansion draft by Seattle, or not resigned. I sure hope that he plays well enough to be kept around or that he doesn't get taken.
And I don't think Veleno will be ready at this point, he would have to tear it up in Europe and have a massive training camp to make it. But I would love to be proven wrong.

Oh they absolutely do, but I didn't really see anyone that jumped out at me thats a UFA as center but I more just skimmed the list.

With the AHL starting in Feb all the guys in the SHL will play the entire season over there and come straight over to the AHL or NHL. IF the wings are terrible expect most of the signings to get traded and some of the prospects make the jump to the NHL.

To be fair they left 20M in cap and just one good Mikael Granlund UFA type signing would stabilize everything pretty well, shift everything into place ✅

With Brossoit nearing 30 with one of the lowest career sv% of his era: why sign him let alone pay 3M$

Would be neat to see them pursue Timur Bilyalov

He'd be thrilled at the opportunity available etc.

I think that there is a very real chance this is what the team looks like next year, and I kind of like it. It obviously all depends how all the young guys play this year but if Rasmussen, Smith, Berggen, Raymond and Lindstrom all have solid years they will likely be given a good chance to make the team. I do see Brome being on the roster as well. If they don't we likely sign a bunch of Free Agents like we did this year to 1 or 2 year deals to let them develop longer. I would also like the Wings to make a trade and find their goalie of the future. I don't see any of their prospects being able to contribute in the next few years.

Yeah they may need to acquire someone in a trade. Ras or Veleno project as 2-3 centers so they really need to true 1C if they're gonna get over the hump

I just put him in, projecting a bounce back season, but as I said in the description you can put whoever you want in for goalie, it was more of a placeholder. You could put Bernie back in on a one or two year deal if he plays this next season like he did from December onwards, or someone else.

I think the kids will get a chance at the deadline. Stevie will try and trade any and all UFA contracts(Ryan,Glennie, Fil,etc) at the deadline even if we are competing for the playoffs. At that point guys like Veleno and Ras will have played the entire season in Europe and about 20-30 games in the AHL before being called up.
