Description

If they can't afford him, I see Fitzgerald sweeping in and trying to add Dunn. Obviously would rather get Sergachev but Dunn is definitely and upgrade to the top 4 for a long time. He also fits the time line of our building blocks (Jack, Nico, Holtz, Blackwood)

Move still leaves a little cap space and plenty for 21-22 with Zajac, Kulikov, Murray and Carrick coming off (Goose and Palms I believe extend) and Zajac if he comes back will cost less. If Smith is ready for top 4, butcher can be moved to free up more room if need be, leaving a top 4 of Dunn - Subban and Murray Smith - Severson with the potential option to bring Murray back.

With Steen and Tarasenko on LTIR the Blues will have $12,074,485 in cap space. I think Dunn could very well be traded but the Blues aren't in a Vegas situation where they are giving away Dunn for scraps
