I like it Nylander is underrated, people hate him to much, he's scores goals for us. sure he needs to work and his aggressiveness and defensive play but he's only 23! Not everyone is like Matthews or Mcdavid

TBH, id like to see a Nylander trade, I think there can be better for less than 6.9 a year, but it doesn't seem as tho TOR wants to part with him just yet.

What's Detroit's reasoning for taking 5.5mill off your cap?

That's not staying true to the blue and white man, trust the process. Im all for a nylander trade if it benefits the teams future and financial crisis

No the leafs will still be the Bomb, I lived through the rebuild and through the trades of 2 of my former favorite players (Kessel, Reimer, though Reimer still is a favourite) It will just hurt if he leaves

I’d take kerfoot over Haula.

And Robertson and Sandin arnt gonna be brought up to be depth and sit in the press box half the season. They will keep them playing everyday in the AHL.

Terrible take, just cause we have cap space doesn't mean we use it on bad players to help you out. Toronto adds a ton to take terrible kerfoot or no deal. We also are giving up 0 picks and giving up 0 to help a division rival out of cap trouble.

Detroit isn't adding on that salary and term for players they don't need, especially after filling holes in free agency. They'll keep their cap space wide open in case any other cap strapped teams decide to pay a heavy price to dump salary

also lmao at kerfoot being terrible? He's a genuinely good player, all the more reason we should keep him. He's money in the bank for 15 goals 40 points across a full season (he had everything go wrong for him this year from injury, coaching etc.), he played with Tavares this season at times, plays centre, is good defensively, is a great speedy penalty killer (when we tried him out there in the playoffs), was second on the leafs in blocked shots by a forward at 40 (30th league wide among forwards 5v5, considering he didn't get PK time until playoffs).

For $3.5m he's a great player, better than Kappy or Johnsson and look what they got (an NHL ready prospect who projects as the next Blake Coleman and (for kappy) 15OA and a B grade prospect)

Not saying Detroit wants him, but Kerfoot is a damn good, versatile player

Yuck it up! How long has been since the Leafs won a cup? What is it ... 54 years now?

I'm happy you are happy with him, I watched him in Colorado and I couldn't dislike a player anymore then I do him. At least your take was reasonable from the leafs side and not saying he's worth a 2nd and Detroit must make this deal
