an overrated bottom sixer and a 2nd and a few midround picks. This is comedy for detroit. Does nothing to help their team and the value isn't even close

Can a team even trade a player awarded a contract though arbitration? It seems like a situation that would be like them matching an offersheet where they can't be traded for 1 year.

Kings won't trade MacDermid for Kulak straight up. They're certainly not adding a draft pick.

How about Toffoli for Perlini, a 2nd and a 3rd?

Bertuzzi is a beast...
you would need to give: Lehky, Poehling, 2021-1st for him... and maybe Juulsen as well... and take a cap dump

That’s gonna be a no from Detroit. 1) Bertuzzi isn’t really available so we wouldn’t trade him even for fair value. 2) His combination of skill and grit gives him a very valuable skill set.

If we did trade him, the asking price would be a 1st+. Not a bottom 6 forward and some meh picks.

This is a really bad offer for Lil Bert anyway you slice it. He’s also an RFA after this year so you won’t be getting him at a rental rate.

So I did some digging and it seems like you can in fact trade a player who has signed his arbitration agreement. That is odd to me but it is the way it is I guess.

I am not a fan of either Burtuzzi (because of the elders hit on Moore but that is my bias lol) and I know this trade is one sided in Montreal's favor but I still wouldn't do it.

Had trouble signing him. They disagreed. He is still a RFA and next year I see Yzerman paying him if he has the same season that he last year. Also I think that Stecie did this to open up a second buyout. We will see.

Bertuzzi is excited and he likes what Stevie did in the off season. Also Betuzzi lives here with his uncle in the Metro Detroit area. Doubt he is going any where.

Forget whether the value is there or not, the Wings have no need to get rid of Bert unless they are compelled to do so....this doesn't even come close.

Nothing @DomCholette said was nearly as drastic as your statement. Poehling isn’t a blue chip prospect and looks like he could potentially become a 3C but there is no guarantee. A first round pick definitely holds the most value (which could be anywhere in the draft and probably lottery protected) out of those three so let’s not act like he was asking for Suzuki ++ for Bert.

ah right because Poehling carries any value and lehkonen is the most admirable asset in the world.

Habs fans inflate their own players values more than any other team in this league to a point where it is funny. I'd honestly rather Bertuzzi over Caufield and KK.... Quit undermining all other players and overrating your own.

Caufield hasn't touched NHL ice and is about 5 feet tall, and KK is maybe a 3C at best prospect right now.

Bertuzzi is a legit winger in the NHL and capable of putting up 20 goals (on a terrible team), killing penalties, and doing everything right on the ice.

Yeah. I'd rather have Bert.

Yes us fans to tend to overrate our own players - thankfully our GM doesn't...like Benning does (Roussel, Beagle, Eriksson) and it allows for us to grab good players like Toffoli! Thanks man

i can assure you, without any doubt, that yzerman would trade bertuzzi in a heartbeat for caufield or KK. i mean you're comparing a middle 6 winger to an elite prospect and an up and coming elite young centermen.

In all seriousness how is Lehkonen overrated? I mean sure Drouin is overrated, Weber, Price, among others. Lehkonen is the last guy on the Habs I'd call overrated. Sure, it is a lopsided trade but to call Lehkonen OVERRATED is just unfair - no one knows who he is.

Okay - I get your point, but Lehkonen holds a lot more value than Brendan Perlini.
