Potential Canada WJC Roster

Created by: ken_holland
Team: 2020-21 Custom Team
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 29, 2020
Published: Oct. 29, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
It isn't as simple as organizing them by skill. Canada usually likes to take a "gritty" 4th line that can PK.

If Ken Holland were really the GM he'd be trading for at least 8 Swedes and signing them to 7 year contract extensions with NTC's and NMC's.

I don’t think Power or Jarvis make the team tbh, Canada is too deep. Krebs and Cozens are also definitely gonna be in the top 6 (Cozens is gonna be 1RW). Imo Lapierre is also making the team, at least in a 4th line role for his 2-way play, but he’s dominating the Q rn so he could probably push for a scoring line role, he’s so good. Dach being loaned probably pushes Beckman to the spare forward and Pelletier/Holloway (I think they’re close, but Pelletier is playing rn) to the other spare. Also who is Cossa? He wasn’t invited to camp.

It'll be fun to see Dach and Laf back together again. They were outstanding in the summer showcase last year...what feels like last year anyway...

Cossa is probably the best Canadian goalie. Was a surprise that he wasn't invited to the camp, but put up a .921 SV% for the Oil Kings last season. Projected early 2nd rounder in 2021

Huh, interesting. Wonder if there’s some reason behind the snub or if they just thought he was their 6th best option. Next year’s draft seems like a solid one for goalies, I believe I read that Sweden’s likely backup (unless it’s Clang, then he’d be their 3rd stringer) is projected as a 1st rounder.
