Hoffman not coming to town, that much turnover and could lead to one cancerous room, I would rather just keep the offense and bargain hunt the blueline over adding the guaranteed money of a ekblad. Florida would be excited about a run and gun retool, patience jets fans, second blockbuster of the Chevy era, probably still to come before expansion draft.

Stralam has a 16 dream no trade list....so the trade talk probably ends with the first trade, and definitely with the Ottawa trade.

Ottawa has enough veterans, a lot younger, and cheaper than $5.5MM. Just be honest, it’s a cap dump. You’re not fooling anyone calling it a veteran acquisition. If you need a reason to explain why Ottawa would accept the trade, first check if they would accept the trade. Ottawa has Zaitsev, Gudbranson, Brown, Zub, Brannstrom, & Jaros that can play RD in the NHL.

Pretty complicated and one sided for the Panthers IMO
Maybe some sort of deal surrounding Ekblad and Laine makes sense.
FLA needs to put fans in the stands (when they can) or have some exiting buzz for their team. Putting Laine on the line with Barkov and Huberdeau would do that
