John Tavares. Good? Yes. Overrated? Yes.

I just think he is overhyped that is all. His stats don't really scream top pairing guy to me

Well he scored at a similar rate to THall, Backstrom, Gaudreau, Barzal, last year without McDavid types boosting his numbers but... go off I guess 🙄

Hall isn't really overrated imo. Laine is still a solid player but he gets trashed on a lot so that is why I didn't put him on here because I just think people trash on him to the point where he isn't really overrated anymore. Edmonton you could put a bunch of people I just think Puljujarvi is the most overhyped

He did great with Doughty 4 years ago and has been doing great in the top 4 in Vegas ever since.

He gets trashed on too much now to call him overrated.

How is Kassian overrated? He brings great energy and complements McDavid well most of the time.

He is trashed a lot more often then you think. Like sometimes I see people call him soft and say he has "no effort" and I'm like buddy have you ever watched a leaf game since he has started playing here?

And when the playoffs role around he's not a guy that I'm worried about. In fact, he's basically no showed against Boston the last 2 years in the playoffs

I've never heard someone talk that way about Tavares. I've only heard the opposite. The only knock I've ever heard about him is his leadership abilities. I don't care for that aspect of him. He's too robotic for my liking.

I would have taken Kapanen on the penguins.
Tanev is not over rated. He's just not a goal scorer. It's the rest of the things he does so well.

Of course if you are talking about guys they still pay, Jack Johnson.....clearly NY over rated him

You’re actually right that pelech is overrated because there are isles fans that think he’s a #1, but he is a lot better than a 4th/5th D. He’s a legitimate top pair guy

Dougie Hamilton was the best defensemen this year before he got injured. He had 13 goals above replacement in only 47 games. And ranked high in basically everything among defensemen. He is elite at driving play and creating quality chances. And on top of being one of the best offensive defensemen he is also very good at defense. Unlike others like John Carlson who only mirror him on the offensive side. Dougie could be justified as the best defensemen in the league. He gets points and his underlying numbers are great. If you don’t have him in your top 5 D u lackin.

Just didn't really have that great of a year and I think he is a little overpaid in that regard.

Ya sorry so i don’t care about whatever underlying numbers you’re talking about. It’s more that thing of him playing hockey. Laughably bad defensively. Horrific. Repugnant. Atrocious. Every time he’s in the playoffs he pukes on himself and teams just start dumping the puck in his corner for easy possession.
