Can't see CHI doing that -- 2 extra years and more $$.

Basically that answers the question of which is the worst contract in the league.

Yeah, maybe. I do think that Seabrook is worse than Vlasic is right now though -- but in two years, Vlasic will be the same age as Seabrook is now, will have the same contract length as Seabrook now, and will be slightly more expensive than Seabrook is now. I'd just rather get rid of a bad contract sooner than add 2 years to it.

I'd rather keep Vlasic honestly. He's the better player and if you pair him up with the right partner, the potential to see him return to form is there. Only upside to taking on Seabrook's contract is that he might be a permanent resident of LTIR before we see his contract expire, which is less likely with Pickles.

And I'm just not sure what the PHI trade does for us. Burns and Voracek are both overpaid, older guys with similar value, but Voracek would bolster our offense. So I like that aspect. But I just don't see how Sanheim fits, and Van Riemsdyk is quite honestly approaching negative value territory. Kane's value is much higher than the combined value of Sanheim and Van Riemsdyk to the Sharks.

Here's the thing IMO: Seabs isn't a full time top 6 defender anymore, whereas Vlasic, albeit overpaid by quite a few mil, is still at least a number 4. So I believe Seabs' contract is worse than Vlasic. Let's have this conversation in 2 years however, cause things might change

I get this but I'd rather have the guy with less term
