Losing an integral part of our core isn't a cap dump. He's an incredibly capable playmaker and is integral to our second line. We can free up cap space by moving Boychuk with the picks acquired in the Toews trade and using either picks or Bellows as a sweetener to take Komarov. Bailey isn't a useless player, FAR from it. He's 2 season out from a 71 point season.

In most offseasons he’d b worth a lot more than a 2nd, but in a flat cap universe a 2nd is gonna be the best you get for a guy with a substantial cap hit. Just look at Nate Schmidt, great player, and only fetched a 3rd. I agree moving Bailey shouldn’t be the answer, but I rly wouldn’t be surprised if it gets there and if he does get moved, don’t expect a big return

I don't think anyone will buy or sell an hockey concession in the current market.
Until Covid is over there won't be any team in Quebec for sure

Don't get me wrong I agree 100% about Bailey, but you can't compare anything to 2 years ago. 2 years they were playing in a system designed around Tavares and it failed miserably. Unlike many on this site I hope to god they never return to that same system of offense before defense until our young guns are ready to take to the next step and can actually make it work.
