doughty is kinda washed up and on a brutal contract

maybe he plays better on a more decent team but idk man, 11 million till he's like 37-38 no way do I want any part of that lmao

Also, not trading him for Marner who's a top 10 playmaker in the entire NHL, he's got a ridiculously high ceiling and is under contract for 5 more years, no way am I trading him

Leafs say no unless if the trade follows these three conditions:
1: LA retains half salary of Doughty
2: LA gets the cap penalty if Doughty retires
3: The 2nd round pick is removed

It's wild that with Doughty's crazy contract and increasingly mediocre play Holl/Engvall/2nd is closer in value to he *and* Kempe combined no joke

The last 5 years of that deal will be a nightmare

Especially under a stagnant cap for a contender
