In coming sour analytics people...

The NHL just ranked Drew Doughty as the 15th best defenseman in the NHL. While I believe he is higher than that, I am glad he is still in the top 15.

Sorry to all the incompetent analytics people who don't watch hockey, I'm sure this is terrible news for you. However, I'm sure you people will keep acting like your knowledge is superior to the experts like you've always done.

Nope, his offensive numbers were worse than Edler's while being worse defensively. Also while we're on the subject Letang and Burns don't belong in the top 20 either

Also, nhl network are not experts. They literally screw up all the time. Funny how you're implying analytics people are snobby when you're trying to say you study enough of every single dman in the whole league, properly analyze, remember and compare that data between them all.

The eye test? What kings fans are you referring to exactly? Lol. If you actually watched Doughty play against rival teams and playoff teams he was always the best defenseman on the ice.

Only knock was his effort in games that didn't matter such as playing against other rebuilding teams...

Maybe several years ago. He has not been top pair quality for 2 seasons now.

I guess it depends how many years you take in consideration. For these kinds of lists, I like taking three years so McAvoy is probably in the top20. Last year, top10. (And I know you told me about McAvoy because I'm a Bruins fan but I'm being objective here)

Aside from telling people " you haven't watched him play " and assuming it, you haven't justified how Drew Doughty is still a top10/20 D in the NHL in 2020.
