An overpaid doughty (Who stinks, and whose contract is wayyy worse), an overpaid kopitar, (Who will stink in like 3 years, and whose contract is HORRENDOUS), Your overpaid third liner, your third best centre prospect, another prospect and a third.

ik it does, but you also have to look at it from a few years down the road. 37 Y.O. Kopitar @ 8.5 mil, and 35 Y.O. doughty at 8.25 would really really stink.

Well that depends how they perform. Age is to some extent only a number. Sure there are huge risks to be considered but considering Toronto's window those contracts for such players aren't that bad. provided they can stay at the level they're rolling now.

Agreed, but then the leafs would have like close to 30million tied up in Doughty, Kopitar, and Tavares, who will most likely only be good for three or four more years. IMO not enough incentive to take the risk
