That's a lot of cap for Detroit to be taking on for just a pair of 2nds.

If I added a 3rd would it be more enticing? I mean Staal moved for a 2nd so I gave you one for each year.

That would make it a bit better. Ideally we'd get a protected 1st or equivalent prospect but that's probably wishful thinking and a bit bias since I'm a Wings fan. I doubt Vancouver would move a 1st to dump Eriksson at this point as they already lost their big guys in free agency so they don't really need to do it.

Wings pass, we will get a 3rd for baertschi and a 1st + for loui. It would take a 1st + 2nd + prospect to take these 2 Contracts

Wow, what an underwhelming deal for Detroit. Can definitely tell OP is a Nucks fan.

Yeah the Penguins want nothing to do with Sutter.

JR is obsessed with bringing back former players, you can't tell me he doesn't at least consider that. But if Pittsburgh doesn't want him that's fine he can go anywhere it doesn't really matter.

You forgot to add the 2nd in the actual trade but prob closer. I'd want a different/better prospect but really the 1st and the 2nd are the main pieces coming back

Just curious, where’s the money to sign Petey and Hughes in the next year? Could this team win a cup? On paper for sure, but the following years would be darn tough

It's gonna be tight but Edler, Spooner, Benn, Sutter, and Pearson are on expiring contracts. Holtby is probably taken by Seattle and Ferland likely goes on LTIR. Beagle probably has to be traded too but that should give you enough space to sign Gaudette, Demko, Pettersson, and Hughes.
NLidstrom liked this.

Heh. Setting aside the garish nature of the give/take balance here, when was the last time there was a three-way trade?
