leafs package isn't necessarily unfair, but they're not gonna trade Robertson in a package for minor upgrades on what they already have (rhd, backup goalie)

MAF and Murphy are pretty big upgrades to Campbell and Holl, but Dubas probably thinks the Leafs need more offense and not defense and goaltending.

VGK will want to keep Tuch, if we trade him out for one of their better prospects they'd do it.
FLA trade is fine, I like carpy hes great on pk but wallmark is an improvement even a possible 3C option.
Not sure OTT is the fit but hopefully janmark can bring out the best in nylander by being the defensively responsible one. Janmark will be traded at tdl tho.
Leafs trade is fairish but they decline too much money going their way and they are high on robertson.

Hawk fans are on absolute crack.
Trading our best F prospect is never a good idea.
Trading our cost effective backup goalie is a no
Trading our only RHD isn’t a good idea.
For what? A downgrade in net and a second pair dman?

And ppl call leaf fans crazy.

Your best forward prospect that isn't going to bring you a cup
Trading your cost effective goalie for arguably a better goalie in MAF come playoff time then Andersen; certainly a huge upgrade to Campbell who is not good...to call that a downgrade in net shows you, you and as a Leafs fan, are absolutely on crack.
Trading your only RHD to get a big upgrade at RHD; Holl is hot garbage and 3rd pairing and 7th man on the best teams...you are on crack if you can't see that.

If Leafs fans want a cup, they need to better on defense and in the net, not on offense. This makes the Leafs stronger going into next year and the fact you are debating shows you are on crack guy

The cap difference isn't that much with the retention; MAF is at $3M after 2 times retention which is a bargain for him.

Dubas knows he needed to upgrade D and goalie so he went out and got Brodie which was huge, Bogosian is huge and Aaron Dell who is decent. I'd give Dubas a solid A for his off season. He addressed a lot of glaring Leafs needs. The Hawks trade is unnecessary imo. I like Murphy and Fleury but until we know what next season looks like I'm happy standing still for now.

Dream on bud. If fleury is better than campbell why does he have negative value????
I understand holl isnt good. Ive been advocating to trade him to give room for lehtonen. But why change what's already working? Muzzin Holl worked fine?
And if Robertson is as good as advertised, this trade sucks. BADLY.

It's because Fleury has a $7M contract which in this AGM just got cut down to $3M. If you think Campbell is better then Fleury for the next 2 years then you should just stop watching hockey.

Robertson will be a good player, needs to work a bit on his skating and defense.

However, Murphy over Holl and Fleury over Campbell is a huge upgrade. Holl was a liability 1/2 the season for the Leafs and Andersen got pulled 4 or 5 times and is not a big game goalie as proven. This is a pretty big upgrade for 2 glaring holes in the Leafs if they want to compete for a cup this year.

Bogo is fine for a 3rd liner IMO. Brodie is a good grab. Murphy is a heck of a lot better then Holl or Bogo and could easily see Brodie and Murphy flipping back and forth for 1st line duties. Dell was a good pickup I agree as Campbell is not good and Andersen has shown he doesn't always show up in big games (not to mention he got pulled 4 or 5 times during the regular season). MAF is clearly an upgrade there to step up in big games. Perhaps Murphy and MAF aren't worth losing Robertson but then again, if the Leafs want to make a cup run, it's something to think about.

Bogosian might be our 7th guy right now. I am 1 of the rare few that actually liked Holl last year so maybe he'D be upgrade defensively but Holl is better offensively and plays well in his own end too. I liked the Muzzin-Holl pair. Dubas' #1 job this off season was to get Rielly a D partner and he did so with Brodie. I liked the Dell addition but Soup has been been fantastic as a Leaf and he did well in LA too. On the ****ty Kings he had something like 927 SV% in 30 games or something? He's not bad. Freddy though worries me. I actually traded him in all my AGMs before Dubas said Freddy is most likely staying.

LA has had a pretty good defensive despite being crappy up front so Campbell wasn't bad when he had some defensive players in front of him. His numbers of course dropped off behind a bad defensive team in the Leafs. Andersen is not a big game goalie and this past season was incredibly streaky; I believe he was pulled 5 times during the shortened season. Fleury adds cup experience and is a big game goalie. IMO, he's an upgrade to not only Campbell but also Andersen in huge games and allows the Leafs confidence in big games such as the playoffs, if Andersen looks bad, they can rip him out immediately and count on Fleury to actually win the game for them.

Holl is plain bad in his own end, much like Erik Gustafsson. The only reason I put Holl in the trade is to take on a cap dump in Holl, he has no use to Chicago other then to play a 3rd line temporary roster spot.

In 6 games with the Leafs he had a .915 sv%. That's fairly good. Definitely above average so I don't get the hate on Soup... Freddy has had a rough time and I repeat what I said last time, I've traded Freddy on 3 or 4 separate AGM teams. I think his value has never been higher and now is the time to trade him. And iD agree about Flower if it was 5 years ago. Between the age and cap hit I'd take my chance with Freddy and hopen it's a between the ears thing. When you get shut out 2 of the 5 games you can't blame that on the goalie.

As for Holl when he was paired Muzzin that was our best pairing. Would I call him a top pairing guy? No but he can play top 4 minutes and well. I would've liked to of traded a guy like Holl instead of Johnsson but depth at D is important. Especially for a team that hasn't had any in over a decade. Since everyone is signed this year I wouldn't be upset to see Holl in the starting lineup beside Muzzin and Brodie with Rielly then have Lehtonen with Dermott. Holl is not a cap dump. 2 mill is cheap for a reliable top 4 RHD.

But MAF at $3M cap hit? In this scenario, that's his cost to the Leafs and is a screaming deal to what he can be for a playoff bound team especially with a streaky goaltending in Andersen as MAF is a obvious upgrade over Campbell. Alternatively, move Andersen and keep Campbell and MAF.

Holl has been responsible for so many defensive gaps that had it not been for Muzzin, Holl would have been a complete trainwreck. Holl is absolutely not much more then a cap dump to the Hawks. No way is Holl getting more ice time then Boqvist or our rookie Mitchell as the Hawks look to rebuild and not sure Holl wouldn't be the 7th man for a third of the season working Seabrook into the lineup. I get Holl is likely better then Seabs but nonetheless, Holl is not part of any long term plan for the Hawks and would be nothing more then bait for Seattle or trade bait if the Hawks could get anything for him at the TDL. I think Leafs fans have watched so much bad defense some may not realize how bad Holl is on defense and needs a very very good defender to be paired with him for Holl not to be a complete liability. He's like Erik Gustafsson.
