Does Tampa do it

Description
Really the move only saves Tampa 1 million in cap space, but it's kinda desperate so maybe. On the other hand maybe Wild say no because with the 2 million retained it's more like paying Johnson 7 million a year.
I think Wild do it for a few reasons.
1. Johnson has center ability.
2. Johnson is a right hand shot, which they don't have many
3. A bit younger
4. The big one Johnson can be exposed in the ED.
Well as usual put your opinions out there.

Zucc has a NMC, which would affect their expansion protections

So probably not

Yeah I think this would be a very desperate move for Tampa. It doesn't help them a lot.

I know its chicken scratch but it does save them a million on the cap. Probably not enough incentive to make a deal but if they get that desperate.

1M is still 4M more than the need in cap space. They decline due to the NMC

Zuccarello has publicly said he signed with Minnesota partly so he only has to play NYR twice a year. I doubt he waives to play in the East.

No, Tampa can't afford to take on any cap what so ever.

I know they need all the cap space they can get, but they tried giving a Johnson away and that didn't work and I doubt 1 late first rounder will move the needle to take him.

That deal would only save Tampa $1 million in cap space, So BriseBois might as well just keep Johnson for another season and peddle him off to Seattle next summer.
