Short term on bear 1 year 1.5ish seems like a fair reasonable raise with no arbitration rights and can readdress next offseason when have more money to offer term if bear repeats his performance. Then it should only take a paper transaction or two to become cap compliant then day one klef goes on ltir and bring back the paper transactions.

As much as I like Bear and would love to see him signed long term, I think a bridge deal is what is going to happen. Oilers don't have enough info on what kind of player Bear is and the tight cap for this season screams bridge deal.

Nervous of a long term deal with bear. Only one year of nhl experience is a gamble. We don’t know yet if last year was a case of everything just went right for the player or if he’s able to repeat and build off of it. 2 years would be most ideal in my opinion but a 1 year could work as well.
Just get nervous handing out extensions based on what we think rather than what we know that’s the biggest reason for a bridge deal.
