I wouldn’t touch that from an oilers perspective... I’m not nearly as desperate to move Neal as others.

realistically, i think boston should rebuild real soon. their prospect pool is drained, their core (Aside from charlie and pasta,) are aging, and they just lost their number one LHD to free agency. I think (and hope) they pack it in for a rebuild

Cats aren’t giving up a first in order to move Stralman

Ritchie jettisoned while Carlo given an 8 year deal 🤨

Also for a rebuild they don't get too much back to start their next phase with and are left with a fairly good team, just seems kinda neither here nor there

Hm why not bury Eriksson instead of buying out

Chara is still a UFA, so they haven't lost him yet

But he's a number 6 at this point. You still lack a true top 4 d-man to help out Grz on the LD

Boston honestly lacked it last year too, no? Krug while an elite OFD was below average in the defensive game. IMO he's really a 3rd pairing elite PP Specialist. Chara has nights where he looks like a 2nd pairing and other when he looks like a 3rd pairing.

Agreed. I don’t want to give a first to move Neal. I would like to get rid of him, but that’s gonna be hard. Also we don’t need Kase. He’s right handed, and even if he was left I wouldn’t want him with Kahun coming in.

Come on, Stralman isn't THAT bad... probably more like a 2nd rounder plus Stralman for a later pick.

I just don’t see what the big rush is to remove Neal. He has only been on the team for half a year healthy and produced very well in that time. I personally don’t care if it’s pp production or 5-5 goals are goals they count just as much. If pay to remove him now that in my opinion turns the Kahun signing into a production replacement not a production addition. No farther ahead. Let’s be fair to the player and provide him another opportunity before doing something regrettable. For this year and following year I’m somewhat confident he will be on the team then with one year remaining on his deal will be a lot more realistic and easier ways to remove him.

I’d be so angry with management if they did that, unless it was a ray bourque situation.
