Description
Wow this was a lot tougher than I thought. If you don't agree with my rankings, let me know who and why! This is all for fun I tried making a consensus from my personal opinion, some research, advanced stats and talking to some buddies. Mostly based off last season ( ex. why Bobrovsky, Doughty aren't on it)

Except Ellis & Spurgeon missing, it's pretty good. Will disagree with some rankings but not bad, unlike most lists

This is pretty good IMO. Werenski, Connor, and Draisaitl are a few spots too high for me, but offensively they are some of the best players in the game so it becomes more about preference at a certain point. Most of the list looks like one I made yesterday, so that makes me feel a little less crazy haha.

Fair, I had Rielly at 11 before I cut my list. Had a tough time with Paryako, he's a great D but I couldn't bring myself to take off Karlsson or Weber instead of him.

I had Ellis at #11 before I cut it down. Spurgeon is great but I would even put Paryako, Letang ahead of him. Who would you take out to throw Ellis, Spurgeon in?

Thanks! I feel with for LHD it can be a very fluid list after Hedman, Josi because they're all so young and skilled. I think Connor is in a good spot. Agreed, Draisaitl is tough because he you can try to justify putting Malkin, Matthews ahead of him but he literally ran away with the scoring race last year with flying colours.

Gaudreau will be back, had a tough season and playoff. Terravainen and Boeser were last cuts for RW.

When I was making my rankings I was thinking about how many of the top-20 d-men are going to turn over in the next 2-3 years and it's just wild.

Yup, Draisaitl should be no lower than 4th, no higher than 2nd. And he's been a top center in the league for 2 years now.

Past 2 seasons combined, Points and (IPP):

1. Draisaitl: 215 (77.62)
2. McDavid: 213 (80.38)
3. MacKinnon: 192 (73.85)
4. Stamkos: 164 (74.55)
5. Eichel: 160 (72.40)
.
9. Matthews: 153 (74.63)
.
13. Crosby: 147 (75.38)
14. Malkin: 146 (81.56)

Goals and (G/GP):

1. Draisaitl: 93 (0.61)
2. Matthews: 84 (0.61)
3. MacKinnon: 76 (0.50)
4. McDavid: 75 (0.53)
.
11. Eichel: 64 (0.44)
.
T20. Crosby: 51 (0.43)
28. Malkin: 46 (0.37)

Points/GP:

1. McDavid: 1.50
2. Draisaitl: 1.41
3. MacKinnon: 1.27
4. Crosby: 1.23
5. Malkin: 1.19
6. Stamkos: 1.18
7. Matthews: 1.11
8. Eichel: 1.10

5v5 GF% rel:

Crosby: +11.03
Draisaitl: +9.58
MacKinnon: +9.07
McDavid: +8.88
Eichel: +7.64
Matthews: +2.56
Malkin: -0.75

I'm not seeing any justification for (a) putting Draisaitl lower than 4th, or (b) putting Malkin, Matthews ahead of him.

did you just put Marchand ahead of Ov?
at no point has Marchand ever been a better player than Ov. And I think Ov is slow.

Malkin 3.846 p/60 (4th)

you could argue Malkin is actually the most productive point producing center in the NHL last 2 years....

Nylander p/60....2.538 (69th) seems like a solid top ten winger tho lol

guys better last 2 years

JVR RNH Gusev Boeser Kessel Radulov Konecny Perron Vrana Tatar Teräväinen,..... a lot more than i expected i quit lol

Yes, I did. Very close race, I love Ovie and still think he can put up 50. Just felt Marchand has a little extra gear in him.

Nylander's 18/19 year was a right off, he really impressed me last season. I would be open to any argument wanting to put Boeser, Teravainen or Konecny right up there with him.

im not sold on Nylander atm. He could go either way. IMO without MAtthews or JT ... hes Domi with a better 200 foot game. Now if he can consistently play the way he did this year then hes 100% top 15 (8-15)
