As an LD Dunn isn't a long term need for Winnipeg.

I actually thought about this one the other day. I agree it would require a sweetener, but I like the concept.

Bozak and his 5m NTC to Ottawa seems unlikely in his last NHL season.

Jets would probably want to keep Ehlers - hard to blame them. Dunn + for Ehlers, Vrana, Bjorkstrand, Meier, Konecny, etc. is where'd I'd start if I were shopping Dunn. Probably all dream scenarios but really no reason to aim low at this point.

Dunn's closest comp right now is probably Dougie Hamilton in Boston (although there were off-ice issues that pushed him out of town). If Dunn gets traded there is no doubt in my mind that he would tear it up on his new team. Then Krug, Faulk, Scandella, and Parayko will all be hitting 30+ yrs old and we'll be sitting here wondering why they thought it was a good idea to trade him.

If Bozak was traded to Ottawa, the trade would void that clause. I don't mind Bozak, Ottawa really doesn't need him though. I think Ottawa is set at forwards, they will probably bring up Peca and Shaw to sit out as the 13th & 14th forwards.

NTC/NMC clauses are no longer voided by a trade or move in the new CBA. The clause is waived for that one particular case and then goes back into effect.

The acquiring team decides if they want the clause to remain, if the player doesn't agree, then the trade isn't made, if the team does agree to the clause, then that's their decision. So it isn't automatically voided, but in this case, it's either voided or the trade doesn't occur.

I like Jesper bratt a lot, obviously NJD would have to add a bit. It definitely seems likely that the Blues trade either Dunn or Perunovich for a forward in the next two years.

No. The acquiring team no longer has a choice with the new CBA.

If a player with a NMC/NTC agrees to waive it for a trade, It is just considered waived for that one transaction. The NMC/NTC goes back into effect after the trade is made as if it was always there and the new acquiring team must abide by its constrictions.

"if a player agrees to waive his clause in a trade, it is up to the acquiring team whether that NTC or NMC continues or is voided after the trade is completed"

That was Feb, I'll check the new CBA extension, I have it downloaded

Good job!

Effective immediately, all no-trade and no-movement clauses will carry with the player if he agrees to waive it to be moved to a different team. Previously, no-trade and no-movement clauses negotiated into contracts became inactive if a player agreed to waive it and was moved.

Of course it's moot since the trade isn't going to happen, but good to get rules clear, thx.
