Plan A: Take another bad cap hit for another pick/prospect ieConfusedteen for a 2nd

Plan B: take 2 bad contracts, steen/boychuck for a 2nd for steen and a first and prospect/2nd for boychuck

Plan C: wait until a team comes crying that the season is going to start and they need our help and fleece them.

Plan D: stand pat and trade all their ufas at the deadline which is so many more picks and prospects coming In

Any RFAs out there that you'd be willing to target? Yzerman wouldn't do that to his old team, right? wink

Lol, I didn't know there were people out there who existed who didn't like the Gallagher contract. Have you found others out there too, or are you the only one of your kind ?

I like Gally alot... but not the type of guy who at age of 30+ for another 4years @6,5M would make sense especially when the cap would stay still...
Sorry to break your bubble!!! but Mantha 5.7M or Gally 6.5M in your team?

I'd love sergechev, but can't see tampa trading him, or us giving what it would take to get him. I could see yzerman fleece them for taking tj. Tj + foote + first + another pick it prospect. I hate tj, so I hope not.

We will still be bottom 5 next and won't give an unprotected first to offer sheet sergechev at this point. Rather draft owen power whose going to be off the charts good

Apples and oranges. Compare the contract that Mantha will get as a UFA in four years instead.

You don't come anywhere close to breaking my, or anyone in this market's, bubble. 31 GMs in the league pick Gally.

The true comparable to Mantha is Josh Anderson.

UFA years cost more, and there's less of them, so 5.7mm makes sense. I think it's super smart for the team that you want a hungry player those 4 years who's going to want to get paid again at 30.

It is funny that here at AGM... many trade i the past year was Gally +2nd pick for Mantha and Detroit always said no... maybe Gally value went higher lately
then can you predict Danault next contract offer?

My thoughts on Danault is that he's faced with pretty much a binary choice. Either:
A) in and around 6x$4.25mm from Montreal (could be with a NMC and signing bonuses, if necessary).
B) if he wants to go to the highest bidder, it won't be Montreal. Might be able to get something in and around 6x$5mm from a team like Winnipeg (and I also think he'd be a pretty good fit behind Schiefele). Stastny is only realistically a short term option.

What do you think Hoffman signs for?

I agree with Danault description and destination possibility... but I would give him 5-5,3M in MTL long term.
Hoffman... good one... read that he refused offer of 1y x5,5M and only long term was 4y x 4,5M... he must be very dissappointed!
I would suggest Nashville for same as Mantha 4y x 5,7M.. and maybe they even won't protect him!
