ten mil for Patty Laine? That's Matthews money I'd rather have Matthews scoring once every other game then Laine scoring 3 times every 10

At 2.5 retained it's very possible, he still hits 50 points like clockwork in a full year and is only 31 so... neutral

I wonder if some people here *just* look at point totals and not whether it came in 81 gp or 66 or 42

Not trying to be harsh but gotta keep it in focus

The cap space for the Jets would be better utilized in other places since JVR isn't needed at all for Winnipeg and there is no compensation added for the Jets taking JVR, so I doubt they do it. That's all I meant. I'm not calling him a bad player.

No they don't. Konecny is a lesser player and Yegor doesn't cover the gap

Konecny is a younger player (who put up better numbers last year) is a right handed winger (check mark) and is signed for more than double the term at a great cap hit.

Quit showing so much bias. This would be a great move for Calgary.

Konecny had a handful more points in a career year while Gaudreau who had a down year has been a more than a point per game p[layer for the better part of his career. That is not bias, it is a fact.

Tell Nail Yakupov that you need to be older than 23 to have a career year.

The point is Gaudreau is a PPG player that had an off year, after 4 years in the league Konecny is unlikely to ever become a PPG player. Dude has exceeded 50 points once in 4 years, he has potential but his potential is not as good as Gaudreau is. Being younger does not equal better.

Lol, you are horrible. What does yakupov have to do with konecny getting better every year. Again he is 23 and producing at a great rate, plays a great complete game and is trending upward still. You get the younger cheaper player with more term. And the right handed forward you need... and a prospect.

Yak was nothing more than an example of why saying "he hasn't had a career year yet, he's 23" is a stupid statement.

Yes, Konecny is younger and he on his own cheaper, but since he is worse, so you also need to improve another roster position to make up for what is lost, which eliminates any cap savings and possibly costs more. And who ****ing cares if he is right handed? Yes, it would be nice to have another top-6 RHS, but it's not something you make a bad trade over.... and whoopie, another LD prospect because with Hanifin, Valimaki, Mackey & Kylington (plus this years draft class), that is really a massive need....

I'm so done wasting my time on this stupidity.

Why is Gaudreau better? Please explain... without saying “hE gEtS mORe PoInTs”

Instead of pointing to yak who is a bust and has nothing to do with konecny why don’t we use say.... every other player in the league!!! It’s called a prime for a reason.

I hope the Panthers deal is just a troll trade, there is absolutely 0 chance that that would ever happen.
