Kings decline, they are only trading to get picks for use of their cap space.

you honestly think we signed girgensons to a 3 year deal at 2.2 million a year to sit him? Same with Eakin as his deal?

I will be shocked if Eakin isnt 3C to start the season.

we also arent burying over 6 million in salary so we can sign drake freaking caggiula

I mentioned the lineup in the description but I'm guessing you didn't read it as per usual it seems with you...
I don't see any reason to not bury Okposo and Hutton if we have better players available.
They likely both wouldn't report to Rochester and we can send them out the way we did Bogosian.
Also, Caggiula as a depth signing I think is a gritty player with some offensive tools for when injuries arise.

Fair enough. could really be any team I just have seen the Kings as the team used for this type of trade.

Yeah, it's confusing to me though, the Kings are set on their right side, and haven't traded a pick for an active NHL player since 2017.

Kyle Okposo is fine in his role, he just makes too much money. He also isn't going to void a 3 year deal (bogosian was in the last year of his deal) with multiple bonus payments. it costs less to buy hutton out (under 1 million per year).

Lazar, Caggiula and Rieder are not upgrades over Eakins, Girgensons and Okposo. They may offer more bang for the buck, but just purely what they bring to this team they are a downgrade

Then you have him on the payroll for next year. Makes no sense for Hurton to be bought out when he can be buried. As for Okposo I'm taking Lazar and Reider and their penalty killing ability on the 4th line over Okposo every day of the week.

Took the idea from another post. I thought it was a better return than I expected.
