How I would do the forward lines

Created by: Sabres923
Team: 2020-21 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 4, 2020
Published: Nov. 4, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
The defense is going to stay the same Montour and Ristolainen will be playing on the first pair.
Hall and Eichel don’t need to play with each other they both drive the play well. Put Skinner back with Eichel.
Eakin will only be effective when he’s with good wingers that’s why Sam and Victor are on the third line.
Remember that Krueger plays lines 2/4 around the same amount too.

I think this would be really good. Reunite Staal and Skinner IMO
Hall-Eichel-Olofsson
Skinner-Staal- Cozens
Thompson-Eakin-Reinhart
Girgensons-Lazar-Okposo

If those are the D pairings, I think Dahlin-Miller has to be our top pair. They should be the ones playing 22 minutes a night

Right but they won’t. As long as Ristolainen is on the team he’s going to play the most minutes. It’s been this way since 2014

Why Reinhart on the 3LW ?

Balance out the scoring. Eakin isn’t very good so he needs good line mates to help him.

Your guess is as good as anyone.
I definitely like splitting Hall and Eichel, as you said they can drive their own lines.
I saw that top line before and I think it makes sense.
Who ever is on RW with Skinner and Jack will be a third wheel and pick up garbage goals and second assists.
Just spitballing here, give Olofsson two good play makers and punch him on the second line.
With Hall he will still get his 30 goals, I am not so sure if he will do so well on the third line.
I hope Eakin is destined to be our fourth line center.
He had one decent year out of the last 4, other than that his production is more like Larsson, except nearly double % zone starts and more ice time.
I would have brought back Larsson and saved nearly a million of cap space.
Cozens center the third line with either Mittelstadt or Ruotsalainen on the LW with Sam on the RW.

You did fine.
Who knows what Krueger will do.
Remember Sobotka on the second line?

That’s the problem I’m getting nervous how he’s going to use Eakin.

Not only Eakin, but how will he use Hall, Stall, Ruotsalainen, Olofsson, Mittelstadt, Thompson, Reinhart?
Let me remind you and every one reading this.
Vesey, Okposo, Miller, Montour, Rodrigues, Sheary and of course Skinner all had career worse season under "the Krueger system".
I would accept poor performance from players if the team did better, but after adding Miller, Jokiharju, Vesey and Johansson, they did worse and missed the preliminary.
