Tuch isn't really necessary in MTL now that they have Andersson signed long-term. And Gallagher and Toffoli also on the right side, I don't see a spot for him on that team really, at least on in the top 6.

And that is an awfully good return for CHI when all they give up is Strome and Delia...

I'd be all in for that if we hadn't Gallagher and Anderson long-term

I agree, but I think the idea is that taking back MAF means we get a first. Not agreeing, just suggesting this interpretation.

I would still consider this. We could line up

Tatar-Danault-Gallagher
Drouin-Suzuki-anderson
Taffoli-Kotkaniemi-Tuch
Byron-Evans-Lehkonen

We may have to move out Kulak for a 3rd but the money could work as well

Then the year after it prevents us to sign Danault, and creates a logjam for when Caufield is ready

No cause Tatar walks anyway. And one of Edmondson Allen or Chiarot goes to Seattle

Interesting idea but the MTL perspective is kind of lacking. They shored that spot they wanted for a guy like Tuch already. Adding more is just overkill. Habs are gonna be in the same cap situation as TB soon if they don't be careful.

Tuch is exactly who they wanted but they filled that role already. Doesn't make sense to waste Armia, Fleury and a 1st on Tuch right now.

Cool concept though and if MTL didn't make the Anderson trade, I'd be all over this. Too little too late unfortunately.

Chicago is getting way too much in this deal. Like how do they get THAT for Strome, Delia, and a 2nd?

Like it has been said, Anderson and Toffoli being signed makes Alex Tuch uneccessary right now. But props for bringing an orginal and realistic idea!

In this scenario the hawks essentially get a 1st for taking on MAF's cap hit. Then they get cale fleury, a first, and a 3rd for strome and delia. They give up a 2nd and also get a 2nd in that mix too. Seems pretty fair to me.

I wouldn’t trade Tuch for Strome straight up, and fleury isn’t going to be moved at this point before the season. We simply won’t pay a first to get rid of him

Still counting.... since when Strome & Delia would get you 2 first rounder, Flower.. + 2nd, 3rd & Fleury D Prospect NHL ready.
Remove both 1st and now it's more fair

That's what I mean... giving a negative value on MAF is ridiculous!

Normally I'd agree with you...but the situation is far from normal. But VGK has claimed they'll not pay a first to move Fleury...they'd rather just keep him.

Fleury had a pretty bad year behind a really good vegas D. With Chicago's D in front of him he'd be terrible. It's a pure cap dump. I know vegas said they won't give up a 1st to move fleury but that's what it costs. He's old, expensive, and not really good anymore. Only reason he's still on vegas is because nobody is taking on that cap without getting atleast a 1st.

You say it's ridiculous to give MAF negative value but the league agrees with me.

second goalie as alot of value for the next 2 years... trading MAF to Calgary or Edm per example with a 3M retain would be better then signing Talbot, smith.. or behind Binnington in STL etc..
They would keep their 1st and retain instead

Calgary and Edmonton have their goalies already. Yeah he'd be a better backup than mike Smith but they're already paying mike smith. They're not gonna get a third goalie.
