You could do this with every single team and make them by far the best team in the league. I’ll give it to you that Rutherford hasn’t had the best track record for trades, but he also hasn’t been significantly better or worse than the rest of the league at drafting. You already got your 2 Stanley Cups, stop complaining.

Well to be fair that kind of team would never have been even close to playing together as you're $50M over the salary cap.

There's a lots of other things to consider but so called what if picks...

Exactly the point I was trying to make. Like yeah, imagine if JR had a time machine and could know exactly which players would turn out the best and then draft them each year. IMAGINE.

Rutherford has only been GM since post-draft 2014 so I wouldn't put the blame on him

But for what it's worth the Blues missed on Toews too and I think that worked out far worse for us than it did for you.

Might I add its not GMJR's fault. Ray Shero was managing the penguins up until 2014. So actually we have him to blame for all of it.

yeah anyone notice how a bunch of those players have since been overpaid....sort of a good thing it wasn't the pens that overpaid. I won't complain about who we could have picked. 3 cups and the best dynasty of the modern salary cap era. and the pens are still prob a playoff team at least for a couple more years...
