Is this what you want, or did this happen?

I wanted Kahun back to push Cozens into the 3C position with solid veteran support and offensive talent. Since he went to Edmonton for peanuts, I’d love love love to see Granlund. Another RW would allow for a ton of flexibility during a truncated season with higher injury/COVID risk. I know management is concerned about bonus carryover but with so much uncertainty, they should field the best team possible and split the $1.4875M 19/20 bonus penalty over two years to squeeze this deal in.

You are over the cap but that can easily be fixed by moving out someone like Girgensons or sending a forward down to the AHL, like Lazar

My guess is the longer he is out there the more likely Granlund takes what is being offered. The Sabres could offer a one-year $1 million deal and if that’s the best offer he gets he probably takes it.

I mean I guess it's possible but I still think it's unlikely simply because there are teams who can afford to give him 2+. He is probably looking for something in the 3-4 million dollar range right now, so I don't know if he will take below 2

Sure, I expect someone will give him more than that. But in the end he takes the best offer. If the Sabres are even looking at him and they make an offer he could take it. I don’t expect it but it could happen.
