as a canucks fan, ditto. big overpay to get a career 0.8 ppg player making 7 million for 2 seasons in exchange for a career 0.8 ppg player making 5.875 for 2 seasons...

Difference is Tkachuk is an elite driver of offense, whereas Boeser is more of a passenger to the greatness of Elias Pettersson. Plus Matthew will actually give that production in a full season, not just 60 games a season.

Boeser is a talented player don't get me wrong, but he's not close to the level of Matt Tkachuk. Tkachuk is absolutely elite, Boeser is really good.

I agree that Tkachuk is a better, more complete player, but I don't think Boeser is a passenger of pettersson: his stats before/after pettersson joined the team are essentially identical, if not better before pettersson joined.

I mean that he's a passenger in the sense that he doesn't really drive play. His counting stats have always been good, and they will likely continue to be good for a long time. He's a good passer and his shooting talent speaks for itself. My point is that while he's inarguably a good player, he doesn't really do a great job of elevating the players around him.

One thing I will say to his credit, is that he doesn't really get the credit he deserves as a defensively responsible player. His defensive shot metrics were really good at 5v5 this past season, which you don't really see much of with goalscorers with his shooting talent.

CGY loses both trades imo

If you really want to give away Dube for a 3rd then COL accepts
