Anybody notice the salary in year 3 which is setting the table for his next deal?

I think he is solid and if that his salary number hlif he maintains his play, it's good.

Not really...he is a UFA so it wont matter...its just saving cash for the time being on FLA part..

I had him at $3.5 or $3.75 in Florida or $4 million in Anaheim, so this is a good deal for the Panthers and settles one of their nagging issues.

Now the idiotic Weegar-for-spare-unwanted-parts trades can stop.

Don't need him as if the rumors were true johnsson + dermott was his worth in florida eyes lul

But dermott has better upside and is younger. Schmidt 2.0 so Dubas would have been foolish to trade him
