Yams, Puljujarvi and Jones likely get protected over Russell, Kassian and Nuge. I bet they’ll come to a handshake deal with Hopkins and sign him as a UFA on July 1st (or equivalent) to avoid protecting him in the draft

Edit: also Khaira will definitely not be protected, maybe Archibald instead?

LOL what is this, if this is the protected list, than you are way way off. Why would the oilers protect Russel for example, we just signed him so we dont have to protect him. Somebody has no clue whats going on.

There's two options for the Oilers.. 4-4-1(less likely with Kahun signing).

Frowards: McDavid, Draisaitl, Yamamoto, Nuge, (JP or Kahun if Nuge extension doesn't happen)
Defence: Klefbom, Nurse, Bear, Jones
Goalie: Koskinen

Or 7-3-1 (If Nuge extends and JP or Kahun light it up)

Forwards: Mcdavid, Draisaitl, Nuge, Yamamoto, Kahun, Puljujarvi, Turris (add Benson or Archibald if Nuge isn't extended)
Defence: Nurse, Bear and Klefbom or Jones depending on Jones season
Goalie: Koskinen

They wont protect Russell and Barrie over Bear, Jones, or Klefbom (if he plays 4 games this year)
