The cost of Suzuki alone is 3 1sts plus Robertson lilJegren and sandin. Still want to trade?

No thanks. With Suzuki and Kotkaniemi MTL has a 1-2 punch coming up. At right wing we have Caufield and Ylonen, we don't need Kerfoot, and we're looking to contend.

This is laughable that Habs fans would not want it. Suzuki is your typical over rated prospect (he's good but not that good) and Drouin has never been what he's was suppose to and is close to being overpaid. Nylander is hands down the best player in the trade unless Suzuki gets much better than anticipated

Although Sukuki might prove the best player in the trade in the future, Leafs don't need the the overpaid Drouin for three years or even Lehkonen

for sure this is a fair trade, but like most Habs fan I/we don't want to part with Suzuki ,he was awesome in the playoffs. And he might not end up being as good as Nylander, but again I think he will.

Suzuki was better in junior than Barzal and will be better In The nhl than Barzal. That’s my projection.

Idk if I'd say hes overrated (aside from the dude above saying his asking price is 3 firsts, robertson, and sandin). But I will agree that its pretty funny they are rejecting it as hard as they are. I think its pretty close. They dont realize that when Nylander was Suzuki's age, he put up 61 points

You realize that when Nylander was Suzuki's age, he put up 9 more goals and 10 more assists, right?

So what did nylander do for his own team defensively?
Suzuki is our #1 centre now. He’s not going anywhere. Nylander isn’t a need for us he’s a dynamic player and I would’ve wanted him for Domi + but now after this offseason it doesn’t make sense anymore

Imaginations always run wild with potential 🙄

If Suzuki is better than Nylander it'll be surprising

Perfect example of the known v. unknown fallacy

Nylander is (very closely) the 2nd best forward on his team in terms of xG differential and better than Suzuki

My argument is not that you need Nylander more than you need Suzuki, but you made the outlandish claim that Nylander is not even close to the player Suzuki is, which is stupid

Hm. Not at all. Both by points per game:

Barzal
D-1 1.0
DY 1.3
D+1 1.5
D+2 2.0

Suzuki
D-1 0.5
DY 1.5
D+1 1.5
D+2 1.5

Then Barzal was at 1 point per game in the NHL as a rookie and Suzuki at 0.6 so a pretty big gap but not huge, also Barzal way better possession wise so...

Barzal so much more talented too honestly his best comparable overall is Doug Gilmour (Barzal a higher scorer so far in his career and Gilmour played in a much higher scoring era) while Suzuki is like idk maybe Raul Stastny or someone at that level?

I didn’t compare the 2 at all. I compared Suzuki to Barzal. Wait for it. I’ve watched this kid for a long time. When we got him via trade it was a game changer for the Habs. I wasn’t expecting anything from Tatar and the 2nd round pick meant nothing at the time not knowing who it would turn out to be (Norlinder) but I was confident that mtl would be happy letting go of pacioretty for Suzuki in the future

The point is don’t bother offering a package for Suzuki cause he’s untouchable. Bergevin won’t trade him for Laine so that should put it in perspective for you

if suzuki is untouchable then Nylander is like a black hole, you'll get pulled apart by gravity before you can even get close enough to touch him
