That would fleece the hell out of Toronto. First off, Kerfoot is worth much more than a 5th round pick. At least a 2nd. Second, you trade a 30 goal scorer for an overpaid defender with a NMC (when he says he wants to stay in Minnesota) and a few depth pieces.

He's still overpaid. 40th in the league in Minutes, 43rd in the league in PTS/GP, and his advanced stats suck. The wild are gonna choke on that deal.

Not saying nylander isn't good but just because his averages are good doesn't mean he'd produce the same as those other players in given opportunities.

He already produces like them, why wouldn't he produce more with more?

He's an adv stats darling, the on-ice results don't come near meeting the x(stats).

His deal is awful for MN being $1m too much and 4 years too long. A $6.5mx3 would still be on the high side for me, but would be considered a good contract by most.

Its a loaded answer. On leafs at best he's their fourth forward so defense doesn't key on him as much, and he doesn't have to play against the tough d as much. In Toronto its likely not to become a huge issue for him to be featured more because he's behind better players. Lets say he goes to the wild and gets 20 minutes a game but is keyed on more. There's no guarantee he scores more, in fact he could score less. Sometimes players flourish in the roles they are in and tend to level so off as they are fed more.

Lol, he plays with the two best players on the team and constantly is on against the best defenders because of it and he scores like the comparable players despite significantly less ice time and next to no first unit power play time

Its a big difference when they're worried about Matthews or Tavares as opposed to being guy on the line.

I also don't rate them in top tier either. Best of the three is tkachuk because he brings everything to the table, he's the best player on the flames. Laine needs a play making c to get to the next level.

That's a fair deal. Over 7x7 is way too much for someone who usually plays on the 2nd pair. Also, I'm not a hockey genius, so I'm not always right.
