McAvoy won’t have the offensive output needed to win a Norris. And he won’t have as good of a partner this year, I think we see a slight regression

Doubt Lehner wins the Vezina, as Fleury will play 30-40ish games

Why do you think he won't have the offensive output? He's top 20 in 5v5 points among Dmen since entering the league, and a stellar Bruins 1PP has a vacant spot on the blueline which I imagine will be filled by McAvoy. I think we could potentially be looking at a 60+ point season from him.

Marchand and Pastrnak are going to be starting the season on IR. I think this team could be struggling for offence without them

There aren't a whole lot of teams that ride one goalie too hard anymore, though. I think if he gets 50ish games (which he may not) on what I think is a pretty steller Vegas team, he'll be in the running

Fleury is going to play too many games for Lehner to win the Vezina.

With the season start date not yet announced, I didn't want to put too much stock into that regarding these predictions. Sometimes things like that also turn out to go ahead or behind the expected schedule, so I didn't want it to affect this. If we get a set date and it does look like they will miss significant time, my pick would probably change, but as of now, I'm sticking with this.

I just don’t think McAvoy is good enough. I think Theodore, Slavin, Josi, Hedman, Carlson and Heiskanen all have a much higher chance of winning it

Those were the two reaches (also Stone as wingers have a tough time winning the Selke), but I like the picks and think both should be in the running for the respected trophies if all goes well.

He may be in contention depending on how many games he misses to start the season, but he won't get it like in 2018-19.

Grzelcyk is better than Chara. And 48-73 have been really good together for the past years

For the " offensive output " I don't know yet how much he will produce with PP1 time but overall, don't see him regressing. For the partner, disagree.

What? He'll have a better partner and more PP time, I think this is a really good pick

He's expected to be ready for training camp, last I saw.

Not saying he's will win, it's just my prediction.

I love macavoy as a player but I dont agree he increases hi point total that much. He isntvthe same kind of offensive player krug was and he won't be as impactful on the pp as krug was. Will his or totals improve, probably but to the mid 40s not to 60

McAvoy is basically a right handed Slavin. I don't think he gets enough appreciation, and sure, there are a lot of other guys who could win, and odds are it probably won't be McAvoy, but I think his offense is going to take a jump this year which is normally what it takes to grab attention and then he might get the respect he deserves.

He's already scoring at a 41 point pace over the course of his career and has been consistently in that range every year. No, he's likely not going to be the QB that Krug was; few Dmen are. However, Bostons PP has been top 3 in the league over the last few years and I don't think it will crater because they replace one good Dman with another good Dman. Wouldn't be surprised at all to see him pick up an extra 15 points or so on the PP. Then when you also take into consideration that he'll need to take the offensive reins a bit more at 5v5 as well... I don't think 60 is out of the question.

Grzelyck is going to be interesting. Has done tremendously so far in a somewhat sheltered role; hopefully (not so much for me) he can continue that in tougher minutes against better competition. It's encouraging that he's done well with McAvoy, even if it's a small sample.

But he's already one of the best defensemen in the league without super high point totals

I'm actually not sure. If people are using the same eye-test they used when Doughty won, I think McAvoy should be a clear contender already.
