I’d ask for more from TB. TJ has 3-4 more years left on his contract. I’d ask for that first round pick plus a prospect like Raddysh or Foote.

Why, I have two immediate neighbors I'm trying to marry off, although they're not hockey-player-aged. The middle-school-teacher across the street is 50, looks 33, drives a Mini Cooper and could be the cover girl for the next Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition. (Thank God for social distancing -- now I have to stand far enough away from her in the driveway that my wife doesn't get nervous.). Then there's the 45-year-old girl around the corner who is the line producer for a daily news show that's received Emmy noms.

It's a rough life, this retirement, I tell ya,

She's a sixth-grade science teacher. My wife refers to her as "Sweetest," from "Sweetest l'il thing I ever saw," which is a quote from her earlier life. I refer to her as "Giggles and Fits," which is Cockney rhyming slang for . . . well, you figure it out.

Highly doubt your gm would take a future cap hindering 4 year dump for a near 2nd round that may make it in 4-5 years

So are you telling me that you'd be happy with Johnson, Barre Boulet and a first for Badini and a sixth?

Rakell, Jones, Larsson, Steel, plus Tracey and Perreault lately* -- yeah, I'd do that.

Plus, he's a cap dump only to Tampa. I think he's got two reasonable years left in him.

* not to mention Corey Perry

No way the Lightning are giving up Foote. Maybe if the team takes Johnson and Killorn with no retaining.

screw that, 20 million is worth more than a late 1st round pick. You need to add.....and a lot.

Johnson and Killorn is 10 million not 20 million. I'm not saying anyone's going to do it (they probably wont') I just don't think the Lightning are trading Foote.

You are right. Tyler Johnson has a ****ty contract but he is not Lucic. I think Ana could manage to handle his contract and have 2-3 decent years from him. But a 1st rd pick is clearly a starting point, nothing less than that.

TJ is 20 million cap 18.5 million actual cash over 4 years.... screw that. It's not worth pick 26+
You need to add. just on TJ alone.

Especially with the possibility of him being claimed by Seattle, (where he would likely waive to play in his home state) if Anaheim (or any team) could land a first for eating one year of his contract, that would be terrific asset management.

The Ducks writer for the Athletic has mentioned it a few time that the Ducks are interested in Johnson. But he has also hinted that he doesn't likely make any moves until the season starts and he can place Kesler on LTIR. I'd probably take Johnson for their 1st. I'd try and get some retention like we did with Backes, Especially at 4 more years. Honest I see a deal like this happening eventually.
