Only way i'd take on two years of Loui Eriksson is for a 2021 1st and a 2022 2nd that upgrades to a 2022 1st if Eriksson doesn't play 50% + of the NHL games over the remainder of his contract.

They take on $875K for 1 year, get 2 mid-round picks and then save $3.5M the following year for 2 players they don't need, where's the problem?

The problem is they already need to sign Barzal and only have $4M to do that. That is a pretty significant problem.
