Now here's a good list. Would have expected Kucherov, Marchand, Panarin in that order but alright

Its pretty close. It comes down to personal preference. Their offense is pretty similar. Marchand plays better defense which is why I took him

I don't get the Teravainen love - what puts him at #11? 33 of his 63 points came at 5v5 last season, only 8 5v5 goals, playing with Aho and Svech. I'm curious if he's being carried on that line or if he's actually doing more of the lifting.

He was doing a bit of the carrying. Svech is a great playdriver/play creator. Aho is a solid finisher. Teuvo is good offensovely but is also the 2-way presence on that line. Hes the 3nd best Cane imo after Hamilton and Svechnikov

ehhh. I think he has a case. I just dont know if he counts as a centre or a winger. he probably makes it if you extend the list a bit more

I think he's going to be mostly a winger going forward. Here is your winger list (past 2 year's scoring) with Nuge, Kane, Ovechkin, Wheeler and Connor (HUGE misses) along with some other notables inserted:

4. Kucherov: 74-139-213
Patrick Kane: 77-117-194
3. Marchand: 64-123-187
2. Panarin: 60-122-182
5. Pastrnak: 86-90-176
12. Huberdeau: 53-117-170
10. Stamkos: 74-90-164
9. Marner: 42-119-161
15. Gaudreau: 54-103-157
Alex Ovechkin: 99-57-156
Blake Wheeler: 42-114-156
Kyle Connor: 72-67-139

11. Teravainen: 36-103-139
8. Tkachuk: 57-81-138
18. Giroux: 43-95-138
1. Stone: 54-82-136
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins: 50-80-130
Hoffman: 65-64-129
19. Rantanen: 50-78-128
Voracek: 32-90-122
DeBrincat: 59-62-121
Kessel: 41-79-120
7. Guentzel: 60-59-119
21. Landeskog: 55-64-119
Tatar: 47-72-119
Dadonov: 53-64-117
Meier: 52-63-115
Reinhart: 44-71-115
Laine: 58-55-113
22. Konecny: 48-62-110
Parise: 53-54-107
Smith: 46-61-107
13. Pacioretty: 54-52-106
Perron: 48-58-106

Stone at #1 is laughable, really. His reputation outweighs his contributions by many times. But the whole list is pretty bad, IMO. Lots of elite players missing and some pretty MEH guys included based largely on reputation rather than results. Frankly I got tired of writing the names and stats down... and I didn't even include Elias Pettersson who should be on this list too.

Laine?

Hes extremely one dimentional. he only scores goals, hes a liability everywhere else. Until he rounds out his game, I cant have him in a top 20 wingers list

A winger's primary and secondary jobs are to create offense, so it should absolutely be a prime factor. My observations aren't solely based on points, but when you leave off the games #1 goal scorer and the 2nd best point producer, there are clearly serious flaws in your methodology.

I mean, there are over 60 wingers that scored more points that Nylander has over the past 2 years, and yet you think he's 20th best. Does that not raise any red flags for you?

I think you are forgetting that he sat out almost half of last season. And couldnt finish at all last year despite his great playdriving

Well, I mean they both are making their team worse on defense. Their teams are essentially playing shorthanded when they are in the zone. Kane is useless on D, and Ovi looks like he kinda sorta cares but doesnt actually do anything

Kane's goal differential is better than Mark Stone's. And he has 51 more points... and yet he doesn't even make your top-22! tears of joy
