Don't think that is enough to get Kane. Caulfield and the 1st are a good starting point, likely another prospect and pick to seal the deal.

From the Habs point of view it is too much, Caufield is going to be a top 6 forward in 21-22 or 22-23, Brook is still a really good RHD prospect that the Habs want to see what he will be before moving on from him. Plus the deal is taking away 2 roster spots with Kane filling 1. I don't know that Lehkonen-Kotkaniemi-Anderson will be as good as what Byron-Kotkaniemi-Taffoli would be. Lehkonen has not put up the same kind of numbers offensively as Byron has. Also the speed that Byron brings to that line will create headaches for defenses everywhere.

Not close on kane trade imo. Tatar is ufa and byron has negative value. Other pieces are a start to the convo.

Why would Patrick Kane waive for Montreal? Only team i see Kane waiving for is hometown Buffalo.

Kane won't waive to play in Canada. Vegas and NYR are the most likely places Kane would waive for IMO and Buffalo maybe in another year. Kane wants to play on a big stage, which Buffalo is not, but if Buffalo can turn things around in another year and has a real shot at a cup then could see Kane waiving for them.

Kane is worth a lot more then Caufield hands down and a 1st round pick doesn't make up the difference. Brook is not all that interesting given we have Boqvist, Mitchell and a budding good prospect in Regula. I don't see Brook being better then Boqvist or Mitchell so not a ton of value. The rest doesn't matter to the Hawks. Net net, this package doesn't get Kane.

Why did you quote me? I didn't create the thread or even say the package got Kane. I just outlined why Montreal wouldn't do the trade.

Kane is awesome but 31, so it kind of is enough.

Because you said MTL doesn't do this. They would be crazy not to, but Chicago isn't doing it hands down for the same reason; Kane can get a better return then that.
